Switching Life's Dial To Colour

After nine years of automatic pointing and shooting with my camera I decided one day I would read the manual. I was astounded at what it could do and ashamed at my laziness and lack of adventure. I didn't know I could take pictures in black and white or capture humorous moments on video. As I was thumbing through the manual I could almost hear the camera saying. "I could have done more if you had let me". My immediate thought was, that's what God has been saying to the world for years.

We get by on what we know, with sometimes just enough input from someone who knows a little more than we do, but we don't always read the operating instructions. God wants to do much more for us than we could ever imagine. When we restrict Him, we restrict our own lives, our dreams, visions, and even our health.

When the camera develops a problem we firstly go to the trouble-shooting section of the manual. Failing that we send it back to the manufacturer. It's the same with our lives. The Bible has the answers to every human problem imagineable, but if we're still struggling or unsure of the answer, we can take it in prayer to the 'manufacturer'.

We're not meant to battle, strive or even guess our way through life any more than we would guess how to use a camera. All the help is there for us if we choose to use it.
